2025 King Kamehameha I Lei Draping Ceremony

Na Lei Makalapua Mainland Council attended the King Kamehameha I Lei Draping Ceremony in Washington, D.C. on June 8, 2025, alongside the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs and our local club, Ke Ali‘i Maka‘āinana HCC. We, along with many other Hawai‘i organizations such as CNHA, OHA, and POL, presented lei to the statues of Father Damien and King Kamehameha I.

Mahalo nui to Jacob Aki for his support with our council's lei presentation, and to Ainahau o Kaleponi HCC for providing the beautiful tī-leaf lei used during the draping.

Na Lei Makalapua Mainland Council also participated in several Hawai‘i on the Hill events, thanks to the support of Shani Butts and Kuhio Lewis. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with other leaders and Hawai‘i business owners!
